I have recently discovered a new service that I now love! It’s called automatic geek. It is similar to geek squad, but much more affordable. Plus you can make some money while you use it! If you have ever experienced computer frustrations and had to take your computer in for servicing you know how expensive that can be. These guys can fix any software related problem over the internet. They can also install anything you ask them (software, wireless printers or even setup your wireless devices) over the internet. It is 100% safe and I recomend at least checking these guys out. Just follow this link and go ahead and use the free pc tune up that they offer automaticgeek. Check it out and see if you could use this service. I use it and I absolutely love it! If you want to sign up for the service you can do it all from the link above. There are different levels of service that you can sign up for. Just check it out and leave me some feedback on what you think about it.

If you have a control system or have ever had one you will know the difference. If you have never had one I will shed some light on that issue for you. A remote control is simple. It issues commands one at a time to your entertainment sources, be it a TV, DVD, BluRay, Cable box, or Sattelite box. It may be IR (direct line of sight) or RF (issues commands through walls or cabinent doors) or it could be a combination of the two. In essence you combine several remotes into one remote but you still have to issue commands manually by memory. For example, you would normally change the remote control to TV, turn on your TV, then change the remote control to DVD, turn on your DVD player, then change your remote control to surround receiver, turn on your surround receiver, then you would change your surround receiver to the correct input. Now if you remembered all those steps you would have to change the remote control back to your DVD page to have control of your movie. It is a step up from having to use three remote controls to do all of that but it is not a simple process still. Now lets take the control system in comparison. If you wanted to watch a DVD you would simply press the DVD button. That’s all! you are now ready to watch the DVD. What took a piece of paper to help you remeber all the steps on your remote control now takes one simple button that we have pre-programmed all the steps for you. Now anyone in your house can opperate your entertainment system with ease. We make sure that everything works without fail and all you have to do is sit back and enjoy your entertainment system.

If you are new to LED technology for TVs, you are probably searching trying to find out what all the hype is about. Obviously the price tag is bigger, but beyond that what is the difference. I can tell you from first hand experience the picture is incredible, especially on the NuVision I’ve seen. The picture is noticeably brighter even in a room where the lights were on full bright. The detail is lifelike.

I have been reading all the reviews (see links to those below) that I can find on this brand to see what all the expert’s are saying about it. I can not find one credible source that has given a bad review. I stress the credible part! I only read the reviews from qualified sources because they cut through all the opinions and strictly give the facts. These guys give results from calibration equipment that cost thousands of dollars. They are serious about what they do, to say the least.

Anyway, if you are in the market for a new TV, NuVision is by far the highest rated review by the experts in the field of TV’s. If you want the best, look no further. And if you need one, we got them. We install, calibrate, and service NuVision. It is our goal to only install products that we can rely on and if we can rely on those products, we know that our customers can as well.

The 2010 CES Show in Las Vegas is over. CES from the very beginning has marked coming trends in consumer electronics and, for the purpose of this article, home theater. This year is no different. There is renewed optimism as attendance this year is up from last year. With renewed optimism comes new goodies and technology for home theater enthusiasts around the world.

This year the show marked the rise of the e-readers and Android. Intel brought on their new “super” processors and we even saw an amazing interactive remote control for Windows 7 which is sure to bring some cool new things that we can do with a Windows Media Center PC. Of course there are all the new TVs and more gadgets than you can shake a stick at – some laughable and some amazing—but what interests us the most is home theater.

As I see it, here are the home theater trends for 2010:

More Internet Delivered Content

One of the darlings of this year’s CES was the Boxee, a cube like device that pumps Internet content and digital files to your TV with a social networking kick. This product builds on technology developed for the original Microsoft Xbox (hint: a media player not by provided by Microsoft). Internet delivered content has been trending up for a quite a while. Hulu, Netflix, Pandora, among many others have been setting us up for this. Look for viable content from the Internet to be delivered to your HD flat panel TV this year. Yes, I know, it will be grainy and substandard quality, but there is a ton of it at your finger tips for your ondemand thrills.

3-D on Blu-Ray

It was just 2 years ago that Warner Brothers hammered the nail in the coffin for HD-DVD and now we are preparing the arrival of 3-D. It’s going to happen. The biggest blockbuster in theaters now is the 3-D extravaganza, “Avatar”. There were a slew of 3-D ready Blu-Ray players launched this year at CES. Expect more movies to appear in theaters in 3-D and expect more capable players to be sitting in home theater racks.

HDMI 1.4 Arrives

Bla, bla, bla. Another HDMI revision? Yep, but this one is more refined. Among the advertised improvements: built-in support for network sharing, bidirectional audio (inputs and outputs on a single cable), 3D and expanded resolution (up to 4K ultra high-def), and support for smaller jack sizes. Thankfully, new HDMI 1.4 devices should be backwards-compatible with existing HDMI-enabled ones. Let’s face it, HDMI removes a lot of headaches now that it has stabilized and these updates have much more potential than you might think.

More Integration with your Smart/Super Phones

Maybe the best known advancement is our western lifestyle over the last few years has been the smart phones. We have our navigation system, our network tools, and even our media in our pockets. With the introduction of Google’s Nexus One “super phone” and other Android based smart phones expect there to be a broader appeal and more integration with your home based entertainment. If you misplace the remote control for the media center, have no fear, your phone will come to the rescue. Expect smart integration companies to offer your more solutions than you could ever imagine in the New Year.

Big Movies

By far, what will really push home theater this year will be the content. What is an awesome home theater without awesome content? Have no fear. If you have been avoiding upgrading or adding your home theater, now is the time. The films coming at you this year will require better speakers, better displays, and better transports. Here are just a few of the movies that you don’t want to miss in all their glory sitting in the comfort of your home: “The Wolfman”, Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland”, “Clash of the Titans”, a new Harry Potter fantasy, and let’s not forget about our favorite monster, “Shrek”. And there will be a Blu-Ray release of “Avatar” and the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy is just around the corner.

It looks like this will be an amazing year for Home Theater in terms of technology and content. Go ahead and stock-up on pop corn.

The CEDIA Expo has been called “Disney World for Geeks”. If you are the kind of geek that loves home theater, audio/video, remote control systems, distributed media, and other marvels of the sort, then yes, CEDIA is your Disney World. This year’s CEDIA Expo was special for us for a couple of reason: 1. As we prepare to open our showroom for Chattanooga area residence, we get one final look at products we think our customers would be interested in and evaluate them for addition. 2. The 2009 CEDIA Expo was held in Atlanta, GA – just a stone’s throw from good ole Chattanooga, TN.

We ventured down to Atlanta along with 20,000 others to see what we could see. Even with a down economy, the show was strong with some important products being introduced and an urgency to focus on what’s important to homeowners and users.

JVC Home Theater Projectors

There were a few products, that we will highlight here, that will affect our product lineup over the coming months. JVC continues to lead the way with some new products in their line of home theater projectors. The JVC DLA-HD990/DLA-RS35 is the biggest news sporting a contrast ratio of 70,000:1 without the use of an iris (many projectors use an iris to artificially escalate contrast ratio). JVC has also done a bit of tweaking on their previously available projectors to improve their performance and value. New to all the models is JVC’s 120Hz Clear Motion Drive, which as the name suggests means the projectors are running at 120 Hz, to decrease motion blur. The DLA-HD990/DLA-RS35 and DLA-RS25/DLA-HD950 get THX Certified. All the models have the HQV Reon-VX chip for the video processing.

RTI ST-7 Remote Control

RTI (Remote Technologies Incorporated) introduces a new two-way remote control that will knock your socks off. In the first quarter of 2010, RTI will release the new ST-7 Universal Controller which is a sleek two-way remote that boasts a 7-inch capacitive multi-touch screen (a similar screen as the iPhone with an obvious size advantage). RTI remote control systems have been very popular among consumers and custom installers alike because of their ease of use, capabilities, and genuine good looks. RTI is taking that to the next level with the ST-7.
